Stratum v1.0.0-rc.40

Release candidate. Continues the Stratum 1.0 preview — recommended for evaluation and staging. Hold production rollouts for the stable v1.0.0 release.

Fixes

• Machines using a common default hostname (such as ubuntu) are no longer refused when registering. A machine affected by this was also left without a TLS certificate request, without the management API, and with an unsigned configuration — all of which now work once it registers.
• DNS records added to a zone with a short name (such as www) now resolve. Previously they were never answered.
• Certificate requests now always reach the panel, and a node reports the real reason when it cannot request one instead of appearing up to date.
• A certificate approval can now only be used by the machine it was approved for.
• Nodes can now install your account's root certificate into their own trust store.
• Installing on Ubuntu 24.04 no longer stops at the final activation step.
• license status no longer prints the details of how a machine is identified.
• Command help now shows the values each command expects.

• Renew a licence yourself from your account at any time. Renewing early keeps every remaining day.
